The existing one-storey North Market will be replaced with a new Four Storey, multi-purpose facility that is more environmentally sustainable, energy efficient and mindful of the character and heritage of the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood. This is expected to be completed 2014.
Sony Centre Resurfaces!

The Sony Centre for the Performing Arts has opened its doors after a two-year renovation.
Located at the corner of Yonge and Front streets, the upgraded 3,191-seat theatre is reopening 50 years to the day of its original opening night.
The Sony Centre will celebrate the start of its 50th anniversary season with id, a spectacular new production featuring acrobats, break dancers, contortionists and video projections by Montreal's Cirque Eloize. The show will run until Oct. 9.
More than 200 workers were retained to painstakingly renovate the circa-1960 O'Keefe Centre, a historically designated building.
