RIVER CITY CONDOS - Under construction
An exciting feature of the Waterfront Toronto revitalization project includes the "Underpass Park" located under Eastern Avenue and right in the heart of River City. The initiative will serve to bring the divided parts of the city together and will feature basketball and ball hockey courts, kiosks, pedestrian-priority walk-ways and outdoor art.
Designed by renowned design firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, the 7.3 hectare park will be a beautiful green space that invites people to the river's edge and transforms an abandoned post-industrial site into a dynamic, year-round, re-naturalized public park, animated by a wide variety of programming and a beautiful multi-functional Pavilion. Innovatively positioned atop the area?s flood protection landform, the park will renew the site while addressing vital infrastructure and take full advantage of the robust topography
The design was conceived by the architecture firm of Saucier + Perrotte Architects, winner of eight Governor General Awards for Architecture and for many Canada's premier design firm.
River City's Underpass Park - Socially Engaging
At River City, Waterfront Toronto is today building one of Toronto's most innovative urban parks: Underpass Park, a two and a half acre mixed use space tucked beneath the Richmond-Adelaide ramps. It will be the most extensive park built under an overpass in Canada. This park will contain public art, recreational spaces, fantastic lighting and community gardens.
River City Condos is more than just a condo building. It is located in the West Don Lands, which will become a show piece community to the entire GTA as well as the rest of the world. An exciting feature of the Waterfront Toronto revitalization project includes the “Underpass Park” located under Eastern Avenue and right in the heart of River City. A Legacy of the Pan Am Games
Toronto's Winning Bid for the 2015 Pan Am games gives the West Don Lands a big boost as it will be the site of the Games' 2,100 unit Athletes' Village. This village will be a showcase of modern design, sustainable architecture and technological innovation.
